POSITION PURPOSE The Associate Systems Configuration Engineer is primarily responsible for the implementation of solutions which result in efficient, accurate, and quality configuration of the company’s core and integrated systems.
This role is responsible for the low-level complexity of the design, build, documentation, and testing in addition to ensuring the timely configuration and implementation of selected solutions.
NATURE AND SCOPE This role does not manage people This job reports to: Departmental Leadership Necessary Contacts: All levels of management including senior management, departmental management, team members, and vendors QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, ISDS, Business Management or related field required Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
Work Experience 1 year of application development, programming, or configuration experience required or 6 months of experience as a Generation Blue intern in IT, Business Engineering or Actuarial systems can be used in lieu of 1-year experience Skills and Abilities Demonstrated basic proficiency in business/systems analysis for software systems including requirements gathering and development of formal business, process, and system requirements is required.
Knowledge of basic database technologies is required, such as SQL Proficiency in Excel and applications such as MS SharePoint, Office365 or Teams is preferred.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve logical problems is required.
Must be ability to work as an individual contributor as well as a member of a collaborative team.
Basic knowledge of healthcare industry is preferred.
Business analysis, Six Sigma or other process improvement experience is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications None Required ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Act as a liaison between the department and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems.
Performs systematic analysis and determination of business requirements to address specific business needs.
Analyzes business needs to determine optimal means of meeting those goals.
Translation of basic business needs into formal business, process, and system requirements.
Provides support for software configuration testing and quality assurance to ensure smooth, stable, and timely implementation of new software configuration or updates to installed configuration.
Develops test plans.
Develops and executes unit testing via SQL queries or other tools and transactions ensuring the quality of configuration.
Performs analysis of testing results.
Resolves configuration defects.
Responsible for accurate and quality configuration of the company’s core and integrated systems.
Modifies or implements new configurations to computer systems and software packages.
Develops queries using SQL or other tools to extract and analyze data to determine required configuration changes.
