Civil/Structural Drafter
The Civil/Structural Drafter is responsible for supporting the design and engineering team by creating accurate and detailed drawings and documentation for engineering projects.
This role plays a critical part in the development of construction plans, 3D models, and specifications that adhere to industry standards and regulations.
The Civil/Structural Drafter collaborates closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of design documentation.
The role requires proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and a strong understanding of drafting software and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Create detailed drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software, following established drafting standards and guidelines.
Generate drawings based on engineering designs, specifications, and standards, this includes developing site plans, structural details, elevation drawings, and other related technical documents.
Work closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
Collaborate effectively with the design team to review and modify drawings as necessary, ensuring the drawing accurately represents the intended design, meets compliance with project specifications.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive technical documentation, including drafting logs, revision control, as-built drawing, and drawing libraries.
Ensure compliance with company standards and document control procedures by verifying all drawings are properly labeled, organized, and stored for easy retrieval.
Perform thorough quality checks on drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy, adherence to standards, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors in collaboration with the design team, and make necessary revisions as required.
Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and construction schedules by providing accurate drawings and technical data.
Support the project team during construction by addressing design-related queries, providing as-built drawings, and making revisions as needed.
Stay updated with industry trends, software advancements, and emerging technologies related to drafting and design.
Proactively seek opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge through training and professional development activities.
WHO WE NEED:
Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
Familiarity with project management principles and document control procedures.
Familiarity with 3D modeling and visualization software is desirable.
0-2 years of experience in the engineering or construction industry is preferred.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, or similar tools.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and documentation.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve drawing-related issues.
