Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies invites applications for the position of full-time tenure track or clinical faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to serve as Clinical Education Coordinator of the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) Program.
The successful candidate will be charged with overseeing clinical education within the CAATE and University standards.
Additionally, an emphasis will be placed upon quality instruction within the MSAT and athletic training education.
Appointment begins Spring 2024.
Instructional Responsibilities will include (didactic and/or lab) within the MSAT; coordinate all aspects of graduate clinical education, including, but not limited to: oversight and evaluation of a diverse clinical education, develop emerging clinical sites, being a liaison between the MSAT and Preceptors, attention to meeting and maintaining the CAATE standards and ensuring quality clinical experiences intended to augment athletic training education.
Additional responsibilities include: advise and mentor athletic training students; assist the Program Director in the recruitment, retention, and preparation of athletic training students; work with the Program Director to maintain CAATE standards and continually evaluate the MSAT; emphasize best practices, current professional issues and trends by demonstrating contemporary expertise and work cooperatively and collaboratively with the faculty within the Program, College, and University; and fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities within the University faculty handbook.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have a terminal degree in athletic training or related field
Current BOC certification and eligibility for Louisiana licensure
Familiarity and applied knowledge (clinical and classroom settings) with CAATE accreditation standards
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Evidence of minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in CAATE accredited program Evidence of successful experience managing clinical education within athletic training
Evidence of prior and/or contemporary clinical experience in athletic training, demonstration of a commitment to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff from a variety of diverse settings and backgrounds
Evidence of clinical experience in emerging/non-traditional (“non-sport”) settings
Experience guiding student-led research, particularly emphasizing evidence-based best practices
