Turner Specialty Services, LLC is seeking experienced Level 2 RT Technician with CR and Rope Access certification in the Geismar, LA area.
This position will perform the required duties associated with radiographic testing of materials in accordance to referencing code while on ropes.
The Level 2 RT Technician with CR and Rope Access technician must have the ability to perform work that is physically demanding, have good communication skills and the ability to assimilate a large amount of new information.
Responsibilities may also include rescue operations, technical reports, and administrative tasks.
Functional Requirements: Uses Industrial Rope Access methods and related equipment to access and complete a wide variety of maintenance, repairs and other industrial work tasks while on ropes or in difficult access areas Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to the IRAT/SPRAT standards and practices Ensures team members utilize proper personal protective equipment Displays a healthy respect for heights and follows all OSHA, site specific and company's safety procedures Participates in required training and maintains a working understanding of rope access safe working practices Inspects and verifies rope access systems and components before use Recognizes worksite hazards and notifies the Rope Access Supervisor of any unsafe conditions Maintains proficiency at rescue techniques and assist in rescues as directed and in accordance with certification level Performs physical activities that require considerably use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, and walking Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent IRATA / SPRAT Level I or II certification Current TWIC Card Required NCCER Certified Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds Valid Driver's License Ability to pass a background check and drug test General Job Description: Perform duties associated with Rope Access in accordance to referencing code.
Position reports directly to Operations Manager.
Performs the following methods: NCCER certification in the following disciplines: NCCER Mechanical (Pipefitter/ Boilermaker/Welders/Insulators/Painters/NACE).
Qualification Standards: SPRAT or IRATA Level I or II certified High school diploma or equivalent Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation Hazard Communication orientation/test Turner industries Group, LLC Indoctrination OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87) Job site orientation Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.
) Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.
) Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place Physical Involvement: May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.
above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.
; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.

; interpret written plans and blueprints; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; ability to communicate with others effectively; ability to work in a team and get along with others; ability to learn new tasks; remember processes, maintain focus, and complete tasks; ability to remain calm under pressure; manage time and expectations across multiple projects; ensure that work is done in a consistent manner and in compliance with directions Work Environment Factors: Location: industrial maintenance and construction sites and/or office environment Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: may include but is not limited to uneven ground level; obstructed pathways.
Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: outdoor and indoor climate.
At industrial jobsites environmental conditions may include but is not limited to excessive humidity, exposure to extreme hot or cold weather, rain, various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment etc.
; potential exposure to chemical substances.
Field duties require outdoor work with varying weather conditions.
Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
