Job Summary: The Soft Craft Estimator plays a crucial role in our industrial construction company, responsible for accurately assessing costs associated with soft craft services including scaffolding, coatings, insulation, fireproofing, and more.
This position is pivotal in ensuring the competitiveness and profitability of our project bids.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed analysis of project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately estimate soft craft service costs.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather essential information for precise cost assessments.
Utilize industry-specific software and tools to prepare comprehensive and competitive estimates.
Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.
Review and validate subcontractor quotes and proposals for soft craft services.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and discussions with clients to gather additional project insights.
Assist in the development of project budgets and provide ongoing cost support throughout project lifecycles.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
Proven experience in estimating soft craft services in the industrial construction sector.
Proficient in industry-standard estimation software and tools.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with acute attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
In-depth knowledge of soft craft materials, techniques, and safety regulations.
Working Conditions:
The Soft Craft Estimator primarily works in an office environment.
Regular hours with occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Limited travel may be necessary for site visits and client meetings.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs.
) may be required during site visits or meetings.
Ability to operate standard office equipment and software.
