Safety/EHS Technician

Position Summary:
Responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment by implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Regularly inspecting work areas, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards.
Document findings and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or mitigate risks.
Coordinates & Conducts weekly Safety Meeting and contractor safety program.
Develops and implements Environmental, Health, Safety policies, strategies, and action plans.
Develops monthly training materials, participates in accident investigations, and establishes performance metrics.
Ensures company’s compliance with Local and Federal Safety, Health, and Environmental Regulations.
Conduct investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes.
Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, inspections, and incidents.
Compile reports on safety performance and present findings to management.
Staying up to date on local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend measures to control or eliminate risks.
Enforce company PPE policy.
Provide training and education to employees on EHS topics, including occupational health, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
The position may also be responsible for treating minor injuries.
Trains staff and plant personnel in EHS
Qualifications and Requirements:
3-5 years’ experience in a safety role preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably steel.
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
OSHA certification, OSHA 10/OSHA 30.
Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
