Boyd Hall Pay Grade: Professional Job Description: This position serves as the primary analyst, project manager, and facilitator of student information systems (SIS) including the support of the student records and foundation and curriculum and advising modules of Workday Student for the Office of the University Registrar at LSU.
The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for grading, registration, courses and advising within Workday Student and preforms all Workday testing and troubleshooting for the Office of the University Registrar.
In addition to being the SME, this position is also responsible for overseeing functional updates to the product, including mass updates of data, regular security reviews, analyzing product improvements for recommended adoptions, and coordinating with other functional offices and Information Technology Services (ITS) to maximize efficiencies of the SIS.
This position provides support to the University Registrar related to Workday Student and other system or student solution implementations.
Serves as the functional lead for all Office of the University Registrar (OUR) Workday Student functional needs by providing technical guidance and support and by troubleshooting, testing, and prioritizing roadmap enhancements.
Supports Workday Student SMEs across functional areas by exploring capabilities and functionality and aligning functional needs to support the students.
Coordinates with ITS Product Manager and/or Business Analyst and change management teams to evolve the system and educate users on product enhancements.
Coordinates and performs mass updates of student data in conjunction with the OUR SMEs and ITS Product Manager and/or Business Analysts.
Assists with tenant-wide functional issues, as applicable.
40% Supports business process and data reporting needs, including coordination with ITS Product Manager and/or Business Analysts to perform regular audits of business workflows to ensure product functionality is maximized in conjunction with evolving student/academic policies.
Partners with functional users, product managers, and change management experts to build robust student and advisor dashboards to support student success and data-informed decision making.
Participates in Workday design partner calls as applicable, and reviews all Workday release updates to assess applicability and recommend adoption of functionality.
Coordinates with Deputy Registrar to develop and build structures that support on-going ad hoc reporting needs.
25% Manages data security for OUR, including the validation and audit of security groups and domains within Workday Student.
Assesses vulnerabilities and mitigates risk.
Ensures data quality and integrity.
10% Makes recommendations and assists with planning, design, research, and implementation of OUR systems, including Parchment, 25 Live, Modern Campus, and other third-party platforms that integrate with SIS.
Performs basic project management functions in concert with ITS Product Manager and/or Business Analysts to ensure work pertaining to feature releases are on schedule and that stakeholders are aware of features being implemented.
10% Supports core Office of the University Registrar functions, including role as back-up processor for registration, grading, and hold resolution.
Regularly coordinates with Processing and Curriculum Divisions to ensure alignment.
Performs commencement functions as needed.
10% Duties as assigned by University Registrar.
5% Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience, with some supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree.
Prior work experience in a Registrar's Office or academic unit performing registrar-related functions; basic knowledge of Workday Student functionality/ architecture.
