Deltech has an exciting opportunity available for a Corporate Accountant to be a key part of the Accounting team.
The position reports directly to the Director of FP&A/Treasury and plays a vital role in the daily Accounting functions within the organization.
This position requires a well-rounded professional with expertise in areas such as accurate and timely financial reporting, preparing the month close process, and leading the annual year-end audit process.
The Corporate Accountant will work a Monday – Friday 8am-5pm schedule at our Corporate office location (8550 United Plaza Blvd, Ste 400, Baton Rouge, LA 70809).
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Provides accurate and timely consolidated financial statements monthly, quarterly and annually; ensures appropriate accounting treatment for all unusual/material transactions.
Prepares workpapers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances.
Establishes accounting guidelines and accounting policies & procedures to ensure the integrity of the financial and compliance with U.
S.
GAAP & other local statutory requirements.
Establishes, implements and monitors appropriate internal controls.
Leads the annual year-end audit process with the external auditors and actively manages the relationship with the external auditors in a way that optimizes its value to the company.
Establishes and maintains a fixed asset accounting process.
Establishes and maintains efficient Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable processes.
Monitors the operating results and budgets and makes recommendations regarding cost reductions and profit improvements.
Performs other duties & projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
Experience: 5+ years of professional and progressive responsibility
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Work, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); Accounting software experience
Competencies:
Experience managing a team.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with establishing accounting guidelines, internal controls, and policies & procedures.
Consolidations experience.
Public accounting firm experience is a plus.
Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
Experience in a private equity environment is a plus.
